Well, thanks folks for all those really knowledgable and useful comments and tips; they have been taken on board and noted!
My thoughts..? If a front swaybar wasn't a good idea how come the 900 16S/Aero/SPG had one... I'm not disagreeing with anything said already, by the way, but I have driven a 900 16S/Aero/SPG and rather liked the handling. I have two 99s that I want to try the bars in, one is a 99EMS to be used for classic rallying and the other is a Combi/Wagonback that is scheduled for a 16v turbo engine, lowered stiffer suspension with 900 rear axle and swaybar, AP brakes and some serious custom body modifications [some of you might remember me carping-on about this last month]. The EMS, by the way, will be getting the rear bar as well and a limited slip diff... If the handling's worse then I'll take the stuff off.
Bear in mind it's difficult to get certain bits in Australia, these front bars being a case-in-point and it seemed a good idea to ask if anyone else was interested. I wasn't suggesting just fitting the front bar, by the way: we can always rob some rear bars from 900s.
:)
