Ditto on the "do not attempt without the special tool"
It's not too hard to do. First you need the correct pump 8 or 12 cog. If you aren't sure, just pull your distributor. It runs off the same idler shaft and has a similar gear. If you have access to a press get a rebuild kit instead of a new pump. Things are more likely to fit properly if you use the old shaft and impeller. Get a Bentley manual and follow the directions. grease the bottom of the shaft when installing and pr-lubricate the coolant side of the pump with coolant-esp. the "bake-lite" spring-loaded seal. Make SURE the cogs are properly seated or your motor is done for.
