Great web page! I was thinking about making one, but the result wouldn't have been nearly as nice. I added one of these pumps to my '80 99GLi after the old pump died, taking the idler shaft with it. I didn't use the optional controller, but a 10 ohm potentiometer to regulate the pump speed. It's a little crude, but it works. I mounted the pump in the outlet hose from the radiator. I used all the standard hoses around the overflow tank, except for running a hose from the heater core outlet to a T connection at the inlet side of the water pump. I left the thermostat in place. The heater has never worked as well as it used to, but the Davies Craig manual clearly states that is to be expected. I did notice a slight horsepower gain, especially at high rpm's. The bottom line is, the electric pump has kept the car on the road. I never would have bothered replacing the old idler shaft and pump. Maybe this will save some more old Saabs from the crusher.
