Thanks John & Justin. Here's what I think: The biggest argument for not swapping the entire engine is the gearbox. Also I read on the performance board about people pushing their turbo pressure up to +14 psi. So what about pistons etc.? What worries me most is the K-jetronic. Even if I'd swap the entire engine I'd still have to hook it up somewhere. It needs fuel etc. I don't know too much about these things and I'd like to handle the job in a couple days, say four or five or so. Another reason not to start gearbox/clutch jobs. Well, I'll look into the diagrams and do some studying. Otherwise I don't really see too many problems. Yes, I might leave the intercooler out. No problem getting a pipe here, we have them. On the other hand, I think there's room in the left wheel well, up front. There's nothing there. I could vent it through the side, the way Ari did (I think it's him). Then it's out through some new grille in the bonnet, I guess. On the side, maybe? Hmmm...no, it'll rain in.
Well, let's see about those diagrams first...bye
