Chris, Kieth and Larry both make sensible points, I'll add my 2cents. Overall it depends on what you want, what you want to do with it, what will please you. I compare my 95 to a VW bug--people's car, made to be reliable and economical, reasonable to maintain. Has its weak points of course, but the main one is some stuff is getting harder to find; but you can get what you need to maintain whatever level of rig you want in terms of reliability, originality, performance (within its "class" limits you might say), and if you are not a purist many adaptations are possible. The 99 was Saab's first step to Yuppiehood, they made it all the way there some time back. Also excellent solid car, more creature comforts like A/C, quieter, better seats (to put it mildly), parts maybe easier to get; has its own set of weak points. You want attention, get 95/96. You want better comfort, get 99. Either can be fine and will require upgrades and maintenance. My '69 95 is going strong at 430K and I'd drive it to the other end of the country tomorrow. K
