Well I am now a proud owner of a '67 95.
It took a while to get home - had to get a tow as once it got warm, the motor would cut out once I hit the gas. I think it's a combo of bad gas (is gas supposed to be pink with little bits floating in it??) and a carb that needs some work.
The good -
- cancer free Colorado car it's whole life. Some small spots of surface rust, but overall really clean
- only slight body damage, a twisted front bumper (and driver's side mount) and a dent behind the drivers door
- runs well, when it was running. Even chirped the aging Michelin snow tires
- cool Saab 3 spoke steering wheel with cracking leather and aluminum center. Is this special?
- factory AC, disconnected. Compressor is in the trunk, but the Saab Koolaire dash panels are all there. I may pull 'em - thoughts?
- good compression, no smoke when starting
- Saab clock & Bendix AM radio (neither are currently working though)
- came w/ original owners manuals - 95/96 & v-4 addendum, Saab factory (??) manual and Haynes manual
- original glass
The bad -
- not currently running well
- interior needs help (cracked dash, decaying foam seats)
- brakes soggy - need a bleed
- tires are shot (has what appears to be an original Pirelli spare
- some window gaskets are shot
It's gonna be a project car - and I'm not going to really start working on it for a while.
Anyway, I just had to share my happiness with my new toy. I'll try and post some pics...
