The Perfect B Motor Posted by Justin VanAbrahams [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Rethinking that, I should say "a relatively cheap and better than stock b-motor" Heh.
I've got a '78 99T sitting in my driveway that hasn't moved under it's own power in god knows how long. Certainly not for at least a year, and probably several years before that.
I am in the final stages of my 16v conversion on an '80 900T 5-door which leaves me with a good running B20T in the garage. I am planning on doing "some work" on this engine before dropping it into the 99. I'm curious to hear what others have done on the cheap to get a little more performance (and I don't mean more boost, necessarily) on their 99s.
My primary goal here is to reduce lag. I am leaning towards higher compression pistons and a smaller turbo (attached via an h-motor exhaust manifold) but am open to other suggestions. Anything that can stay factory is a major plus, since I probably have it on hand... :)
