Hi tris/bri, what's involved in a front end overhaul is any/all of the following: Tires wheels bearings ball joints struts springs shocks tie rods and tie rod ends steering rack sway bars bushings frame straightness probably a few more. Once the parts have been carefully inspected and replaced as necessary, you are ready to adjust (align). From the way you ask the question I suspect you will be in for a long learning curve to attempt anything yourself, if that is the intent of your question. My best advice would be to find a competent operator in your area to fully inspect and tell you what he finds. Of course not all parts that show some wear will require immediate replacement for satisfactory performance and tire wear; this is a judgement area where technical experience counts for a lot, and good communication with the customer and his wallet will determine the appropriate direction. Often a simple alignment will set you up unless you have sophisticated driving needs.
Locating a reliable operator in this arena is one of the hardest things for a consumer. email me if you like for help finding one, I have contacts around the country and will be glad to steer you if I can. Or talk to your local Saab specialists.
