900/99 conversion - driveshafts

Well, Philip here in the UK, I've been running my 900i engined 1970 99 for a while, and have now fitted later brakes hubs and driveshafts from a 1984 900. Questio9n - anyone know if the driveshafts from a later 99 are shorter than the 900 ones as the driveshaft appears to bottom out on sharp left hand bends. The reason I changed the brakes was because I had the same symptom with the original brakes, but put it down to a shot wheel bearing. Doh!
Any suggestions as apart from that it pulls like a train!
