If you are VERY CAREFUL extracting the old pump, you may be able to get away with replacing just the seals and bearing. They are still available from some sources. If you have never replaced one of these pumps, I would strongly advise you to have it done professionally by someone familiar with them, and who has the proper Saab tools. If successful, this would be by far the cheapest and best solution. If that doesn't work, then you could still go with the electric pump. Good luck!
