I need electrical help !

Friends: When I moved my 1970 V-4 Saab 96 to its present location, I lost the
key to the ignition in the process. I made a tool just like the one shown in
the Haynes Manual, but never could find the tumbler/release mechanism with it
to withdraw the ignition switch cylinder to take to the locksmith. I can start
the car from the engine compartment with an off the shelf starter button and
switch, but I would like to be able to start/shut off from the cockpit. I
found an ignition switch in a junkyard from a 60's Nash Rambler which oddly
enough had a GM key in it which works in all four positions: ACC, Off, On and
Start. I checked the wiring diagram for a USA 1970 96 which showed five wires
from the ignition switch as follows: (clockwise from left)
Wire #: Color: To:
5 Red Fuse block (#7 from outside)
75 Red Headlight switch (?)
118 White Coil
84 Yellow Starter solenoid
4 Grey Fuse block (#10 from outside)
Upon pulling the wires from my disabled ign. switch I did indeed find five
wires: Red, linked at the spade to a fried wire, Red, Yellow & Grey. By the
process of elimination the fried wire must be white, it was fried clear bak
inside the loom so i couldn't see anything but bare wire.
When I connect the battery, and use my test light, the only wire with current
in it is: #4, the grey one.
Now, my little Rambler switch has five terminals on it conveniently labeled:
(clockwise from left:) GRD, BAT, ACC, SOL & IGN.
With my limited electrical knowledge, i assume #118 would match "IGN" & #84
would match "SOL", but I am at a loss to match the others. Would #4, the grey
"hot" wire go to "BAT"? What should go to "GRD"? Thanks 4 reading this far
and any help you can give me ! "The Kid"
