Hi J..! I'm just up the road from you and I've got a 96 sitting in my back
yard that runs! See my 'Saab Story' at http://kskid_2k.tripod.com. I've always thought 96's were really unique. A unique design, shows airplane in
fluence and their mechanical simplicity helped me overcome my fear of getting my fingers greasy. The strokers are in a league of ther own. If you are individualistic, dont mind going against the grain and are thick
skinned, i think you would enjoy a 96. On the down side, I would ;say
RUST is the #1 enemy of the 96. Look for it first on the floor boards, get
down on your knees and look under the floor pan for rust, and if a stroker
look at the front shock absorbers to see if the top mounting is still anchored. Mechanicals can usually be brought back to life relatively easy
If the motor wont turn over, look to see if the spark plugs are still in it.
If not, water can get in the block and that usually means that engine block
is ruined. Think it over, and Good Luck., Let me know if you need any spare parts or have some eassy questions? "The Kid"
