I hope you aren't talking about the fuel accumulator, which is a spring loaded diaphragm that absorbs fluctuations in fuel pressure. Not having one would certainly cause the car to run erraticaly. It's mounted on the drivers side of the fuel tank. I had one that rusted to the point that the sring was sticking out. If the other side had rusted instead, itwould have been leaking. A dealer told me that they had never had any problem with them and it never needed replacing, but they weren't dealing with very rusty east coast cars here in Oregon. I might have a spare if you need it.
To answer Rowan's question, the piping on the CIS system is plastic with steel fittings that the piping "slips" over. It's actually more than just a matter of slipping it onto the fitting, but I'm too tired to describe it. figure out thich line is leaking, and more importantly, why. Is it because something has rubbed on it? Did it crack? is it actually a fitting that is leaking? is it the fuel accumulator?
