- plastic center caps for "Aztec" rims (I am missing one)
I'm not sure, but you might be able to get them from the dealer still. I have a full set of new ones that was bought at the dealer a few years back. (They're going on my 99T when I get it finished)
- cheap rims for winter tires
try and find some used wheels from a pre '88 900.
- new road springs, the originals have gotten soft
I'm using OMP springs in my 900 (SPG) and I love them (the 900 ones will also fit the 99). They're around $230US/set. I got them from http://www.ompusa.com
If you have the original Bilsteins you could have them re-valved to match the new springs or just leave them and see how they work out. I think http://www.shox.com sells Koni shocks for 99s and they also have B&G springs for 900s that will fit (both of which are supposed to be good).
- headliner
So long as you have the foam part you can have it re-covered at an upholstery shop with new cloth. When I've done them they've been around $100US if I bring the headliner to the shop out of the car.
- trailer hitch (I know these things exist, but nobody seems to know where to find them)
I saw one recently on a 99T that someone on this list snagged from under my nose ;-) You might be able to adapt a 900 hitch to the 99. It looks like all the 99 needs is two holes dilled for two bolts to go in behind the bumper.
- replacement panels (rust never sleeps)
I remember someone I know ordering 2 99 fenders from Sweden. One came after a month or so and after maybe 6 months the other still hadn't arrived... I say make your own patch panels...
- ideas for turbo upgrades or other performance boosters???
You can take an exhaust manifold off of an H motor 900 Turbo and it will bolt onto you B engine. Then you can use any of the turbos off of '81-'93 900s. You can have one rebuilt as a hybrid and you can adapt your car for water cooling the turbo by taking water from the drain plug below the thermostat on the head and plumbing it back in after the radiator. (My 99T has that mod but with an early style turbocharger).
You can fit a 900 radiator in if you have cooling problems. Another thing you could do if you did that would be to get a water pump cover from a '79-'80 900 and use a 900 expansion tank. That way if you run low on coolant in your expansion tank you won't necessarly run your water pump dry. (I have this mod in my '76 99)
You could try fitting an intercooler.
I think they make rising rate fuel pressure regulators for CIS systems. You could get a fuel distributor from a Volvo turbo that ran CIS (unless the 99Ts in Canada were built like the ones in Europe and already have the 6 port fuel distributor). The Volvo turbo fuel distributors and the European market 99T fuel distributors have 6 ports (for 6 fuel injector lines) but two of them are blocked off. That should help you get more fuel. (I have one of these to go on my 99T). You could also wire the cold start injector to turn on at wide open throttle or at a few psi of boost.
You could get SAS or Adcco swaybars. (I have a set of these for my 99T)
Strip the interior and put in a roll cage. (hehe)
I like the Bosch "red coil" (which is now silver). I noticed some nice smooth power after I installed one in my 900.
There are a lot of other things you could do, but that should keep you busy for now. Good luck!
