Years ago I replaced the mount you are refering to on my '79 900 5-door (after the ignorant dealer in Simsbury CT had spent the entire warranty period telling me that the noise that I _knew_ was an engine mount, was the exhaust). I had to buy a longer bolt because SAAB had redesigned/reinforced the area around that hole to which you are refering. (I'm sure the mount bolts the same place on both engines.) The 99 never had the mount reinforced there. The only reason you wouldn't be able to put a bolt into that hole is if there is one broken off inside of it. What did you take out of there?
