99 EMS starting problem!!!

Hi,
I have a '78 99 EMS, it is my daily driver. It is in great totally original shape and still looks nice.
Only problems I've had is with starting.
Sometimes when trying to start the engine doesn't even turn, because the starter is inoperative, I found out that it was probably due to loose wires at the starter, but I think it is not normal that I have to tighten them every 2 months, right?!?! When I am "on the road" I found out that just "wiggling" the wires is enough to get the engine started...very strange...
Second starting problem is more serious (I think). The engine does turn but won't start. This only happens after a longer drive or in warmer weather. Today was a warm day (91F), but since I live in LA I guess it is only getting warmer (I moved from Northern Europe last fall). I drove her for about 10 miles today, and now she won't start!!!
Does anybody know what the problem might be??? My car is a 49 state model 99 EMS with original factory A/C, but without emission equipement (catalyst, etc.).
Temperature never gets above "N", only in warmer weather with A/C on and in traffic, the temperature will rise little above "N", but then I usually turn off the A/C and turn on the heater (better save than sorry).
Help and advice would be greatly appreciated, since this lovely car is my only means of transport, and I would hate to have to get another car.
Thanks,
Vince
