Josh, you can remove the engine and trans at home in your spare time if you have at your disposal a floor jack, a garage floor on which to roll the jack (and the car)and the ability to lift the engine from above. Chainfalls, come a long, or portable engine lift. If you have these capabilities then you can do it, but if you decide to do the removal you need to know all the Saab secrets to make the job easy. If your working on the trans always take the engine and trans out as a unit and re-install as a unit. Quick run down: remove hood, grille assy with radiator, disconnect electrical, eng mounts, exh, r. trans mount, shift, freewheel linkage, slave cyl, speedo cable, and you need to drop one axle, get advise on this.
