THe conversion went well. I used the inner CV and drive axle from the 99 and the outer CV from the '88 (earlier outer CV's where the threads go all the way to the end of the axle should work too)The outer CV boots need to have the outer "lip cur off of them. The holes through the body for the e-brake cables are 1 1/4" Cutting out the 99 e-brake lever was a pain in the ass because they really welded the sucker in. I installed the new e-brake lever with a minimum of welding (just a bit out of the car-always better than welding IN a car) Everything works great. I put 195 tires on standard teardrop alloys. It looks great. Steering is lighter than before, even with the wider tires. The brakes (vented in front) are amazing on such a light car (2-door) The car also seems to ride lower and is a bit more rough over bumps. Another update to follow after I install the front sway bar. Oh, car has rear roll bar- car tracks much better through corners.
