What a steal for $25. I'm currently almost done with my 73 EMS restoration which I think I have less than $3000 into, but some areas such as body and paint cost me roughly $1000 for materials alone and the $600 I paid for the car is the bulk of the expenses so far.
Some hard to find parts can be located by calling Chip Lamb of West of Sweden Saab in Virginia. He told me he has some pretty good connections. I bought all 4 CV boots from him for $100 (try finding them anywhere else). Ball joints, which might be a good idea to put in new since you want to autocross, at Sobstory they are about $15 each.
Good luck finding caliper kits or complete calipers for that matter. I did manage to pick up two 'new' front ones on ebay a month or so ago which included new pads and hardware for less than $100 total. The rears are none existent anymore. I was fortunate to have saved some re-build kits from when I owned a Saab shop 10 years ago, so re-building mine was not a problem. If you're lucky the brake system is alright, but from all the years of owning a pre-75 99, that is not the case as the pistons like to become seized in the caliper bore. New master cylinders are still available if one is needed. I found two sources without really trying, so you shouldn't have a problem.
I know what you mean about mouse pee. Mine had mice living in the engine bay and also in all of the heating ductwork. Don't forget to open it all up to clean out the insulation that they have packed inside of it. I also had a snake living in the trunk that was evident by the skin it had left behind.
The door seals and trunk seal can be plucked from a 4dr 900 as well and work fine if yours are tired.
