Okay, everybody, I hate to do this but I have to say something.

Don't know anything about this car but the guy selling it - GREG SMITH - is the same guy who sold me my '67. It's not a happy story.

A couple of years ago I decided to look for a good vintage Saab V4, something I could use for a daily driver. Found one on the 'net and corresponded with Mr. Smith about the car. I was going to be in New York on business and was supposed to meet him to check out the car. He claimed a family emergency and we didn't get together. Sounded legit at the time. Anyway, I decided to buy the car ($4000) on his word and have it trucked in thinking it was ready to be my daily driver. (I know, my fault for being a trusting sap.) Well, work was a bitch right then and I couldn't get away again and he convinced me that the car was in good condition. He even said the only reason I couldn't drive it back to Kansas from New York was the tires. (What a crock!)

So the day arrives and the guy I hired ($1000) delivers my Saab. Looked pretty good up on the flatbed. But here's what I found when we unloaded it: shot engine, rotten transmission, failing brakes including master cylinder and the rears were completely frozen, shaky clutch, shot radiator, bad carb, bad shocks - you get the idea - your basic cheapie paint job on a mechanical disaster. The poor thing would barely pull itself into my garage. Ask Bill Yudchitz where I got my replacement motor and tranny, or Chip Lamb and Jack Ashcraft how many parts I've had to replace. It's enough to make you lose faith in your fellow man.

Well, that's my experience with this guy. My advice is to go slow and double check every fact. And good luck, you're gonna need it.
