rarity aside the b motor is not worth fixing anymore. i'v had lots of them and staring my 16 v is like winding my watch in comparison. quiet and smooth. i believe that an h block wil fit without much firewall mods, if any, but it is a REEEEEAAAAALLL tight fit. dropping the front mount with a welder would work also. 1/2" - 1" would do it and would not bugger up the linkage.
stay with a 4 speed if you can. if you can't...send the 4-speed carcass to me! :)
