Actually no, I think, although I don't blame you if you're feeling a bit nervous at this point. Two of the four items you've already corrected are weak points in nearly every Saab and do not indicate that you got a "lemon". Nor are they representative of how the rest of the car will hold up:
1. DI Cassette - Notorious among Saab owners. And fortunately subject to a recall that will occur in March. It is likely that they've finally gotten a fix on this problem, and it's just as likely that the one they installed on your car incorporates the fix.
2. Oil sending unit. I've had three Saabs dating from 1986 to 2002 and they've all had leaking sending units. Not really that big of a deal, it's just that it is difficult to reach and repair.
I'm curious about the struts though. How did they "fail', or were they just worn out? Were they leaking? I have a 2000 9-3 with 60,000 miles and it could really use some new ones. I've been told that the rear shocks are a "weak point", but nothing of a huge magnitude.
Concerning the warranty, my opinion is that it is very, very unlikely that this car will not run up repair bills that would equal the amount of money you will have to spend for a good one. That generation of 9-3s was generally pretty well screwed together at the end of their model run, and with normal maintenence, the entire driveline is relatively bullet proof. Reading this web site can sometimes lead to the opposite conclusion, but remember, this is a bulletin board generally dedicated to problem solving so you've got to expect a lot of problems to appear on it. However, one thing a warranty WILL get you is peace of mind. So if that is a priority, indulge yourself.
