All,
Long story short, my '08 9-3 Aero convertible was recently totalled by my insurance company and I'm looking to replace. I've found a few very nice NG9-5 (mostly Turbo6) options but have a few questions, any informational/constructive responses appreciated!
Most of the options I've found do not include several features I would /like/ to have. I know I'm not likely to find everything I want, and I'm find with that but interested to know if it's practical (though obviously not cheap and depends on being able to find the required parts) to make some upgrades:
1) Navigation/basic infotainment - is this as simple as swapping out the head unit if I find the correct year unit, or are there additional things required (gps antenna, different wiring/controls, etc)? I'm not currently looking for an aftermarket system, I know they exist and if I decide to go that route that's a whole other discussion.
2) Ventilated seats - is this as simple (though probably cost prohibitive) as swapping out the seats and adding/replacing dash buttons/button panel (is the wiring all there)?
3) Bi-Xeon headlamps - again is this something that the headlamp unit can be swapped out or is there software/features that need to be enabled/installed, or is there additional hardware aside from the headlamp assembly?
4) Was the U-rail trunk system dealer installed or did it require factory prep?
5) Semi-unrelated but is the Hirsch upgrade worth it?
Other than the typical concerns in buying a used vehicle, is there anything specific I should watch out for on the NG9-5's
