hi, Ro, just a short update to my odd downshift on deceleration problem:
Mechanic said he used the proper trans fluid. They flushed the trans TWICE and he scanned while driving and said it is shifting as normal. I need to follow-up and ask him if he has both the TECH2 and GM MDI scanners to be sure.

After getting the car back with a ‘clean’ bill of health, I had 2 white knuckle, 45-minute freeway drives where on deceleration, I felt that funny downshift again and felt I could be in for the clunk of death. A guy on another forum told me that he suspected it was a 35R wave plate, but assume if i was that the car wouldn’t run at all.

Obviously, I’m not convinced it’s fixed. If mechanic does NOT have TECH2 and/or GM MDI scanners, can I assume that any decent Buick dealer will have them?
