With a very limited number of NG9-5s on the road its going to be very difficult to get a hit list of common failure points to check. The 2.8L is all in all is very robust and leak free engine assembly. Most leaks on the NG9-3 are traced to the coolant expansion tank (now seeing the updated ceramic tanks leaking). With that in mind I would suggest starting there. As Jeff mentioned, simply add a small bottle of UV cooling system dye and allow system to leak. Trace leak with a black light, the UV will pop and indicate your leak.
Unsure what experiences other dealer and indy techs have with these NG9-5s, they may chime in with their experiences.
