..but if you don't have one, checking the fluid is straight forward. To left of your car battery (kinda, north /west of it?) you should see the tudbe that leads up from the transmission casing. The fluid dipstick should be there. As for replacing the fluid, underneath the car, about 8 inches to the driver's side of the engine oil drain plug, is a 24 mm head drain pug (lowest bolt on the auto transmission casing). Took me a while to identify this one, as there are about three in that location, but only one of them is 24 mm.
This is a great forum - do a search of <ATF fluid> on this board and you should find some additional direction!
