94 900S V6 Auto 157K
Ok before I get flamed for buying this car, I figured I would explain. I went to an auto auction and purchased this car for 1200 buxs. Now it does need a little work, but the interior and extior are in mint condition. Mechanically I am going to find out soon since I need to have it inspected. I know it needs or is going to get general maintenace, oil change and tune up. And I do know it needs a new antenna, breaks, new drivers side mirror glass and exhaust. And I can do all the labor myself. I have been reading this site for about 2 days now and a lot of great info here. Praise to the admins.
I have been reading a lot of saab sites and I was with the understanding the S series was a v4 not a 6. Well this one was a 6 and it has every option except a cd player. Dont know thought I would make that point, but it is an S model.
Ok First Question - Is there a scanning tool for reading the computer for this car? I had one for my camaro and it saved me hundreds of dollars in unneed repair costs.
I have not searched the car completely yet to find the owners manual, but what is the recommend engine oil to use, weight and regular or synthetic?
I know about the timing belt issue and plan on learning to do it myself or finding a good mechanic that works on saabs.
Thanks for any insite into these things and I am sure I will have a billion questions, and I will try the search feature of the site.
Thanks
Chris
