Are you sure you've got a 1998?! As far as I know, the 900 had hydraulic clutch since mid-1997. That's the biggest reason to want that year!

This is a mistake. New rotors are very cheap: about $90 shipped for a pair of Brembos from eeuroparts.com. And warped rotors can definitely cause the problem you describe -- we are talking some big a** rotors here.
Bent wheel are a problem. Cosmetic damage is one thing but if they are bent, you want to replace them. Look on car-part.com for good prices.
