Bob, if you have the $20 basic engine manual (available from eeuroparts.com and willing SAAB parts dealers) part number 03 57 491, you will have all of the instructions that you need. I highly recommend it. If you just want a couple of quick pointers, I have this manual at home and could check it out for you tonight.
However, even with full instructions, alignment is still very tricky. I am one of a handful of DIYers that have done it but I bought the expensive (~$300) timing belt installation tool to make sure I got it right. If you goof it up, obviously the valves are toast and you're looking 2K-3K of damage. There are some universal/generic timing belt installation tools for this engine. See linked post below.
