(Saab 900s 1996 5 door)
I've got a head unit that outputs track info via a serial cable and am wondering what format/protocol the stock radio used. I'd like to send it to the main SID display like the stock radio did.
My questions are: What protocol does it use? It does not seem to be typical RS-232. I have heard rumors that it uses CAN (http://www.interfacebus.com/Design_Connector_CAN.html). Can anyone confirm this? And if so, does anyone know of a CAN -> serial converter or the design of one that I could build?
Any insight on this would be helpfull.
Thanks,
DeFKnoL
