Non turbo? Clean injectors, pull and regap or replace the plugs and read them, check battery electrolyte levels, clean cables, boots, coil face, rotor (probably glued on and will not come off) and distributor cap (inside and out). Any oil in the cap? Any oil around the plugs?
Blow out dirt from spark plug wells before removing the plugs.
Clean the TB and IAC.
The above is all good maintenance. If that does not help, should be done anyways. If the fuel filter was changed recently, perhaps the fuel pressure regulator is bad, which seems to happen with a new filter... reason unknown. You probably got a new filter with the new pump? When ikt will not start, remove the gas cap and note if there is any sound of rushing air. Then try again. Ever had the gas cap replaced? There are three types of caps out there, you need the right one.
