Besides a decent jack & stands (look for packages on sale for around $60), Rhino Ramps are nice to have for many projects, including oil changes. Most of the chain auto stores in my area sell them for $20. They're lower than standard car ramps, so the fit under the front air dam w/o scraping.
Besides 6-pt sockets, I'd also recommend getting an inexpensive beam-style torque wrench. The drain plugs are threaded into relatively soft aluminum pans, & it's really expensive if you strip out anything. Torque on the oil plug is 18-22 ft-lbs (about the same as for spark plugs, if that helps), & I think the tranny plug is about half that (anyone have that number?).
For ATF, I'd recommend switching over to Mobil 1 synthetic, & changing it at least three times to get between 80%-90% synthetic in there. Drive around for a while in-between changes so that the new fluid mixes with the old stuff you never get out of the torque converter (about 1/2 of what it uses). Some folks like to change it after about 100 miles of driving, but I think you're safe going as long as you like. Just don't go longer than 30k miles between changes, especially if you stay with conventional fluid.
