The inrush of air would indicate a pressure lock in the fuel tank that is fighting the pump pressure.
Checked fuses as well? For fuel pump too (32). plus 16B, 17, 28
Some have done the fuel pump, but you have to empty it then lower it.
Turn on ignition and do not crank, radio off etc. Listen for a brief whirring sound from the back. If you don't hear it, try whacking the bottom of the fuel pump, then ignition on, or both at once with a trusted assitant. If that gets it going, you need a new pump.
Fuel pressure is not easy to check. Someone cracked a fuel filter fitting and turned on the ignition to watch fuel spray out of the loose fitting. Can be dangerous!
DI plugged in?
