Hi all,

First of all, pardon me if have not yet grasped some of the board's specifics, I am a new user.

I just recently turned picked up a 97 900SET 5m with 88k on it. After driving it for 3k I came to realize that not everything is perfect about my car, and I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions about some items that I noticed.

- There is a whiny sound at idle that comes from the serpentine belt / idlers / tensioners area. Does anyone if this means that the belt/idlers/tensioners will break soon?

- There is a whiny sound in the 1st (sometimes 2nd) gears. Since this happens while driving I cannot determine where the sound is coming from. If this was any other car, I would say transmission whine. However since it is a sub, is there any chance that this is related to the serpentine belt as well?

- There is a very subtle creaking sound that comes from the suspension when going over bumps at low speed. What items need to be replaced/inspected?

- Bad trunk leakage. Is anybody else experiencing this, and is there a solution?

- Does anybody know of a pre-made mounting bracket for a normal-size CD player to be mounted into the double-din slot? (I know about the Clarion CD-changer solution, and there was one already installed when I got the car, however I can't use it because the previous owner was kind enough to break the connection ring of the cd-changer cable, so now every time I ride over a bump, it disconnects.)?

Thanks for any suggestions that you might have,
-Alex Babin
