Last Saturday turned out to be a nice day and got the bug to spend some quality time with the Saabrina.
Gave it a nice wash and took off those winter tires/rims. Put on the alloys with my Toyo's. Wow, I forget how much better the car looks without those black rims.
I then decided to install the Dawes MBC I got early that week. Install was very easy (thanks to this board).
Took the car for a spin:
First run: No Fuel cut, needle just into red.
Stop: Gave MBC 3 turns
Second run: Fuel cut
Stop: Back off 1 turn on MBC
Third run: Fuel cut
Stop: Back of 3/4 turn on MBC
Fourth run: No fuel cut, Needle 1/3 into red. and WOW!
I feel that with the MBC the turbo spools up way faster. Super fun now in all gears now.
I don't find it hard to drive in 1st or second gear. The only time it will get away from you is if you mash the pedal too long.
I did find my Bypass valve honking. I will buy the Viggen bypass valve at dealer ($70 Canadian). Interesting note about this bypass valve is that the dealer looked up the bypass valve part number (for 98 900SE) on the computer and it showed 2 numbers. The original and the Viggen/9-3. They said that the original bypass valve is no longer used if they had to replace it. They will use the Viggen/9-3 type as the computer states.
My K&N air filter should arrive at local store in 4 days. ($55 Canadian) Will install asap.
Mods so far:
3" PVC air intake
Dawes MBC
Short belt
Next?
Viggen bypass valve and K&N.
Remove turbo silencer?
