I did some research on replacement of these lights and discovered that they were quite expensive.
So - off to Radio Shack for the recommended replacement which is way too small and in my opinion too dim. Attempted to use a longer bulb with a couple of fine wires in the existing socket an they were too long.
I had an old dash panel from my 1989 900s sitting on the bench with all the existing bulbs in it, SO, I popped the back off the ACC unit and put one of bulbs from the 89 900s dash in to the hole, twisted it (it will only go in one direction) and it fit. I did the same with the other two lights plugged it back into the wiring harness (aren't those connectors great) and they all worked. I do have pictures so if anyone wants to see them I can e-mail them if you drop me an e-mail.
Next is that the light in the window/power top switches was gone out as well, so out that came and guess what fit in there........a bulb from the old 89 900s dash and worked as well.
The past few days I noticed that my power top was not activating at times and took repeated flicks of the switch to get it to work so while the switch assembly was out on my bench I pried it completely apart. Seeing I am the second owner of the car it appears that there was something sticky spilled into this assembly causing the contacts inside to be real dirty. I used some electrical contact cleaner on the 11 little rocker switches, cleaned and lubricated the plunger assemblies on each of the switches, cleaned each contact up with a fiberglass pen, re-assembled (which I thought was going to be a little piece of hell) and it works better than ever. In all it took about an hour from removing, dis-assembly, cleaning and re-assembly and it even went together quite easily.
Just thought I'd post these as I know there are many who experience the same problems.
