Hello everyone,
I just got this 96' 900SE which is a convertible, got it for only 4k and am willing to spend money on repairs, but am experienced enough with saabs to do most of them myself. I at first had the seperated Tonneau asdsembly linking problem, which I fixed, only after realizing i couldn't use the manual top lever with the brace on. however even though the Tonneau cover lifts and latches fine (it seems not to be pressing all the way down though, the top seems to fold too high) , however the cover will raise a few feet then fall back down, clicking the whole way... It clicked when it was manually raised or lowered also, I hope the top motor and gear was not damaged by someone's over use of the manual top. When the top is down the area touching the tonneau cover in the rear, seems to be half an inch or so off of the car, even though it sits down fine on the boot, almost like the bar might be bent, but I hope not. I seem to remember a mentioning of a retrofit kit for bent bars, somewhere on the whole convertible systsem. Just wondering if there could be a common problem associated with this, and what could I do to remedy this, if I can stay away form a dealer mechanic at all.
