This Trionic engine has no camshaft position sensor and relies heavily on the ionization characteristics of the spark plugs through the DI cassette and the knock sensor to adjust and prevent knock.
Back when I was a rookie (my first Saab), I got the Bosch +4 platinum installed and my 9000 ran like crap immediately (If I remember correctly, that only happened under heavy acceleration). As soon as I switched back to the BCPR7ES all was well again. These plugs and the "6ES" is all I've used since. Installing the correct spark plugs (gapped properly) will rid you of many knock and CELs. I can't speak with authority for the Iridium plugs but in my experience the system runs best with regular electrode spark plugs. If you've purchased them already, give them a shot and let us know how they fair. Your call at the end.
