Clutch Cable Adjustment

I recently noticed that my clutch cable was in need of adjustment. Though I indended to do so, I hadn't yet gotten around to yanking on the cable, the so called "classic" adjustment method.
While waiting at a traffic light yesterday, I was wondering about an alternate adjustment technique. With the tranny in neutral, I fully depressed the clutch pedal, and then slid my foot off the pedal so that it "popped" back to the undepressed position. It worked like a charm.
I supposed it would be better to do this in one's driveway, rather than in traffic, but all's well that ends well.
