A while back, I got my front brake pads done from local shop (that is now out of business). Everything seemed fine until I started hearing this wicked rattling noise when going over bumps from the front - and noticed that it went away when the brakes were being pressed. When I recently took the car in for a rear brake job and new exhaust, my mechanic told me that they thought the people who did my front brakes installed the clips (the external ones that you can see from front of calipers)incorrectly - so they took them off and repositioned them and the rattle stopped. HOwever, the brakes barely worked so they had to turn them back around and now my brakes work great - but the wicked rattle is back. My mechanic wonders if the clips are the right clips and maybe that is why they are not working correctly. I need some help on this because the rattle is going to drive me nuts! Any advise? Does anyone have a picture of what the clips should look like? Thank you in advance.
