True, the exploding battery could have happened on the Geo, but a cable connecting said battery to the rest of the car should NOT have cost $250 (parts & labor). When the battery died on the Geo, it gave me ample time to plan a course of action, keep driving towards a battery store, no sweat. On the 900, it literally *died* on me while driving away from home, so add towing to the experience :-)
Now, a radiator failing at 75k miles despite dealer flush and fill every two years? (I have my doubts on this one...)
clutch fork sleeve? sucks, between the Geo and its predecessor, an '85 Civic, and a couple Saturns, I've done close to 450K miles on manual cars with no failure on this one.
And of course some typical failures, including idler pulley (twice in 3 years), power door actuator (twice, once under warranty), water pump at 40k miles (the Geo is still running the original one, and all the original belts and hoses :-) at 200k), a couple of strange A/C repairs and a recharge due to a leaking A/C pipe, and the vanity mirror covers (twice).
But then, this was the car that stranded me a week after I bought it (600 miles on the odometer, power steering hose clamp failure ;-)) so little seems to surprise me anymore.
There are also the usual 'cosmetic' things like SID pixels, stainless muffler with a few holes (sounds better with a couple holes), power antenna (replaced with fixed mast), heated seats that don't work, and so on.
