the ones nearest the heat source (engine) get cooked first. Now I have a turbo, not an S model so yours will be a bit different and pictures of my car will not help you. Remove the plastic cover immediately behind the engine. This cover sits on top of the thrittle body/intake manifold. This is typically Grand Central Station for vacuum hoses. You will see some small hoses about 1/4" O.D.. This is a harsh environment for hoses so start here and follow each one to its termination point. Add up the lengths and buy new material. You will probably need 5-6' of this stuff. Be careful with ones connected to plastic fittings, these fittings get brittle and if you break them, it is a dealer only item for the most part.
