Plugs are ok? I know that you replaced, have a look to be sure. Gapped to .035 - .039?
Have you changed the fuel filter. We see a few fuel pressure regulators that go bad after a new filter is installed. Exact reason unknown. This makes starting difficult.
The ECU also does cold start operations by the signal of the engine temp sensor. It will be 200-400 ohms cold and a around 2K hot if you wish to check with an ohm meter.
Check that the evap control solenoid hose is not split or cracked. The solenoid should be closed at start, so pinching it off should not make a difference if its ok.
Fouled injectors can cause this problem. Techron Contenrate is often a cure for that.
You can try a cold start, where you crack the throttle open slightly. With the T5 you can start and run with the TBTC off so you can see in there. If a slightly more open throttle makes it start, then you could consider adjusting the throttle stop to hold that postion. And you can remove the IAC inlet hose and watch the IAC valve move too. And if it was a low fuel pressure issue, could put a teaspoon of gas onto the throttle plate and see it starts then.
The FPR has been replaced DIY by a few folks. It has a small vac line to it from the TB. You can check that that is ok as well.
So check the maintenance items, then maybe the throttle stop, but make sure that you can put it back where it was. Then maybe the FPR. It is less than $100.
