My 98 did the same thing. The part was over $90. I did disconnect my sensor lead and bridge the two terminals to make mine shut up until I got around to it. 90% of the cars on the road today will tell you when you have low washer fluid but nothing for coolant or oil being low. Go figure the priority? I remember when my 92 9000CD turbo had low coolant and low oil warnings. My 900SE 1998 only tells you the coolant and of course the critical low washer fluid. Well I will get off my soapbox and back to the topic. I used a small gauge alarm system solid core wire to bridge my two terminals after unpluging the sensor. It worked fine. Face it you do not have an accurate warning now until you replace the entire coolant res.
