If it's a turbo that only holds 4 qts of oil, I'd change it every 10k miles. If it's not a turbo, I'd probably go longer. (I'm going to try 20k mile intervals in my non-turbo '90 C900.)
For turbo engines in climates above 20°F, I'd use either M1 15W-50 or Amsoil 20W-50. For cooler climates, I'd use either company's 5W-40. For non-turbos you can really use just about anything, but I'd use either 5W-40 or 0W-40.
