I have a 1995 900 SEV6 with 127,000 miles. I purchased it in December 2001 with 68,000 miles. My TCS OFF light has been on since 85,000 miles. The diagnosis was $5-600 to fix it(throttle something needed replacement), but the mechanic made it clear that other than lack of TCS, the car would be ok. Even in the Michigan winters, I have noticed no downside to not having TCS. If the car is a V6, do yourself a favor and look up "V6 timing belt" to get all the info on this issue prior to purchasing the vehicle.
