Blinker doesn't turn off by turning wheel

I have a 95 900S and I've begun to notice a small albeit annoying problem with the blinkers, and I'm wondering if its just me or is this endemic of all NG900's. The problem occurs when you go to make, say a RIGHT turn--turn the right blinker on, then turn right, then straighten out the wheels coming out of the turn. The blinker doesn't automatically switch off, you have to do it manually. Only with great effort can I make it work properly and I'm not sure but is this the way Saabs are supposed to work? what can I do to correct it?
