I have a turbo 9-3 but the first mod I did was simply put in an K&N air filter. This improved the spool up of the turbo getting rid of lag; what it
tells me is the air-filter on the 900s (if the same as a 1999 9-3) is somewhat restrictive. What you will get, as I did, with the K&N air filter
is slightly better gas mileage.

I think the 3 inch mod to air-box may help on a non-turbo also; it was a
bit more cutting then the board makes it out to be ..the intake noise increase is very slight with it. I have read of complaints with the noise
of the cone intakes.. You could perhaps try one with a return policy ?
