In terms of V6 maintenance costs vs. turbo, you may not have done the right thing. But enjoy the car now and just take care of it. There are very few posts about turbo replacement if you monitor or search this board. Can't recall a single one recently. There are multiple posts about V6 engines being toasted from timing belt system failure. But many of us like me with lots of miles and good experiences. Do not neglect this car!

Definitely follow recommended intervals on the timing belt and tensioner kit. You can not afford for it to fail. Search archives for more info. In the US, the belt is replaced for free at 35,000, 65,000, and 95,000 miles. An updated belt tensioner and idler pulley is also supposed to be installed. There is some question as to how often (if at all) the tensioner and pulleys need to be replaced. I will be definitely be replacing mine every 60,000 if not sooner.

As for the rest of the car, watch out for this on the 94-95 V6:

timing belts & cam seals (do the seals by 125,000 mi or sooner and belts as above)
valve cover gaskets (known V6 issue)
weak a/c (known issue 94-95/96 cars)
94-early 95 suspension of older, poorer design
oil cooler (known issue 94-95 V6)

Ron mentioned the antenna, ECU, tranny mounts, CD changer, radiator, washer pump, water pump, and convertible top motor. I have replaced none of these in 144k (but I don't have a 'vert!).

Richard also mentioned the serp belts, engine mounts, reverse lock out switch, and clutch. I would consider most of these routine maintenance items not known issues. I have replaced only the serp belt, not the mounts yet. I have an auto trans.

I did replace my head gasket at 125k but that was due to mild overheating when the upper radiator hose blew. Also had oil cooler resealed at 115k and recently one of the pipes was leaking where it left the block. But 5 mins with a wrench took care of that! For you, yes, oil cooler failure is likely. See linked post below.

Cheers and good luck, mate!

The early V6s had big problems with leaking cover over the oil cooler...
