It happened to me...DI Cassette failure...

Well, it finally happened today... the dreaded DI Cassette failure.
I had stopped at the store on the way home from work. Finished my quick shopping trip and get back in the car. The car starts for a second then dies. Tried again a couple times to start it but it won't start, just cranks over. I open the hood and get a big smell of burned epoxy (kind of an acrid burned plastic smell that lingers in the nose).
Thank heavens for the wise words of the Saabnet! I get my spare DI cassette from the trunk along with the handy multi-bit screw driver that I replaced that cheap Saab Torx driver with. What, there is no T-30 Torx bit. I cuss a bit then find that the square drive bit will work, but it chews up the head of the screws. In about 10 minutes the DI cassette is replaced and the car starts right up. No other drama on the way home, just a fine Swedish machine purring along like nothing happened.
Now to get another spare DI Cassette from eEuroparts and some nice shiny M6 x 16 mm Philips-head screws from the hardware store.
By the way, for those who keep track of these things, I have had the Saab since new (Nov. 1997) and this is the original DI Cassette. Sparkplugs were always NGK BCPR7ES-11 changed every 15,000 miles with the gap set to 0.036”. I had no warning at all from the DI Cassette. No missing, no hesitation, nothing…it worked perfect as far as I could tell up to the moment it failed.
